DominicanToday.com - Unidentified assailants strangled an attorney and former member of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), inside his apartment in the city's Los sector Los Garages.
Juan Diego Valerio, 65, was found Friday morning with his feet and hands tied by the maid Miriam Gomez inside his home in the condo Los Colegios.
Unconfirmed reports say Valerio was a U.S. citizen who also owned a law firm in an unspecified city in that country.
The suspects stole a 2006 Honda Accord, a TV and other belongings.
His neighbors said they suspect a woman with whom the victim had a romantic relationship, and to whom Pichardo had given a vehicle and then took it back.

Police investigators arrested three people wanted in the death of former US Drug Enforcement Administration agent, the Dominican-American Juan D. (Jimmy) Valerio Pichardo, 65, found strangled in his home last week.
The police said Steven Fernandez, 22, planned the crime together with Juany Montan, 21, and confessed to killing Valerio, who allegedly formed part of a love triangle with the two. Jose Luis Martinez, 20 was also charged in the murder
Acting on an arrest warrant, investigators seized Honda Accord, TVs and other belongings of the victim, whose body was found in his apartment of the sector Los Colegios.
Valerio was also a member of the Natinoal Investigations Dept. (DNI) in Dominican Republic.

Maybe Valario knew somethign about somebody and "was taken care off" - I don't entirely buy the official version.
