“Whether the number of deportees in 10 years is 15,000, 20,000 or 22,000, it’s still a very high number, that is to say, that when it goes from 15,000, 20,000 is almost the same insofar as it keeps us at the same level of concern in both cases,” the official said.

“If we compare it to the last few years this year’s increase has been greater, that is to say, that the first 11 months have increased and are nearly 3,000 deportees,” Pared said.

He added that although there’s no data that convincingly shows a direct link between drug trafficking and murders for hire, “somehow, I understand that a person who has been convicted of drug trafficking in the United States, if they are deported to his country, if they haven’t repented, they normally try to break the law again.”
