DominicanToday.com – The CEO of the prestigious Institutionalism and Justice Foundation (Finjus) regrets that despite the constant denunciations of corruption by journalists and others in society, the country lacks the will to fight it, and reiterated his criticism that Government officials don’t render account.
Serbio Tulio Castaños said there’s a lack of will to penalize the corrupt and make them pay for their crimes. “The country has lacked political will to apply the systems of consequences on the cases of corruption detected in government.”
He affirmed that “absolutely nothing happens” when Dominican journalists conduct investigations which uncover ongoing mismanagement in government agencies.
“Although people are discovered in those actions, the systems of consequences don’t work,” he said, interviewed Tuesday morning on CDN2 TV.
Castaños also said blasted the political parties, where in his view a structure of “mafias” direct their internal policy “and that’s what must be dismantled." |
