DominicanToday.com - Dozens of journalists and press workers headed by Juan Bolivar Diaz, gathered in front of the National District Office of the Prosecutor, to protest the aggression against their colleague Vianco Martinez, by bodyguards of the impresario Saymon Diaz.
The document “Day of national amends for the press” read by Juan Bolivar Diaz criticizes the Justice Ministry’s “inertia” in the process, and affirms that journalists have lost hope in justice in cases of physical aggressions.
National District prosecutor Alejandro Moscoso denied sluggishness in the case and reiterated to Martinez his commitment in the investigation and persecution of all punishable action.
The physical aggression, reportedly perpetrated by the bodyguards Jose Vargas and Rafael Vargas, occurred one year ago when the journalist tried to interview the Spanish singer Pedro Guerra.
