DominicanToday.com - Venezuela’s authorities have taken Dominican Air Force (FAD) lieutenant colonel and pilot Carlos Quiñones into custody, for trying to fly a Falcon airplane with drugs to Dominican Republic, from a rural airport in that South American nation, news source diariolibre.com reports.
Quoting Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) sources, it said FAD chief of staff Israel A. Diaz confirmed the case yesterday, but declined to provide details.
Diariolibre.com reports it contacted the Venezuelan Embassy yesterday, whose press secretary Anabel Lugo affirmed they didn’t have details on the officer’s arrest, adding that its diplomatic offices don’t reveal information on ongoing investigations.
Diaz said the Venezuelan authorities, the FAD and the DNCD will conduct a joint investigation, according to the media outlet.
